Within just a few notes, a few quiet lyrics, it becomes evident that Sherri Youngward is an artist with a passion for God. Her desire to express the beauty of Jesus Christ and His love for us is the fuel that powers her music, and her love of God’s Word is woven throughout her eleven full-length albums. Two of them, Scripture Songs Volume One and Two, are straight Scripture put to song.

The title track to Sherri’s latest album, While We Are Alive, is inspired by Psalm 146- “While I am alive, while I have my being, I will sing praises to my God.”

This is Sherri’s credo. And anyone who knows her music will tell how the simplicity of her message becomes profound when worked through the heart, and how the loveliness of her melodies sweeps away worry and bathes you in peace.

While We Are Alive is no different. Sherri sings a quiet invitation to the listener, and you can’t help but want to join in the story.

“So many faces I’ve met over years of travel were in my mind while writing these songs. My hope for this album is that people will turn it up and sing along.”

You won’t be able to resist doing so when you hear Sherri’s new offering.

Sherri is often found performing off the beaten path in small churches across the United States and abroad, including her twelve trips to Russia. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and continues to enjoy playing concerts, retreats, women’s events, outreaches, and wherever else the Lord leads.
